The Secrets of Sir Richard Kenworthy was a finalist in the 2016 RITA Awards in the Short Historical category. The RITAs are awarded by Romance Writers of America and are the highest honor in romance writing. The eventual winner was It Started With a Scandal by Julie Anne Long.


What Happens in London was named Best Long Historical Romance of the year in the 2009 RITA Awards. This was JQ’s third win, and with it she became the twelfth author to be inducted into Romance Writers of America’s Hall of Fame.


Mr. Cavendish, I Presume was a finalist in the 2003 RITA Awards in the Regency Romance category. The RITAs are awarded by Romance Writers of America and are the highest honor in romance writing. The eventual winner was My Lord and Spymaster by Joanna Bourne.

JQ achieved a rare back-to-back win with this honor; she won the year before for On the Way to the Wedding.


On the Way to the Wedding was named Best Long Historical Romance of the year in the 2007 RITA Awards. The RITAs are awarded by Romance Writers of America and are the highest honor in romance writing.


Romancing Mr. Bridgerton was a finalist in the 2003 RITA Awards in the Long Historical category. The RITAs are awarded by Romance Writers of America and are the highest honor in romance writing. The eventual winner was Stealing Heaven by Madeline Hunter.


The Viscount Who Loved Me was a finalist in the 2001 RITA Awards in the Long Historical category. The RITAs are awarded by Romance Writers of America and are the highest honor in romance writing. The eventual winner was Devilish by Jo Beverley.
